Introduction

         اَلسَلامُ عَلَيْكُم وَرَحْمَةُ اَللهِ وَبَرَكاتُه  and greetings.    

Representing all members of the Centre for Foundation Studies in Science Universiti Malaya (PASUM), I would like to congratulate all students who are selected to pursue the foundation programmes offered here.

For your information, PASUM was established in 1977 to promote enhancement in students’ knowledge on the fundamental aspects in the respective programme before continuing their studies at the faculty level. The courses learnt here are guided by many experienced educators while being accommodated by comprehensive teaching facilities and science laboratories. Other than teaching and learning, the programmes are being supported by a structured student affairs system. We emphasize in making PASUM a stepping stone for students’ success in their upcoming studies at the faculty.

I stand for all members of the Centre for Foundation Studies in Science to welcome all students as part of our big family. I believe all students will give their full commitment in their studies and become the pride and happiness of their parents and families. I trust that the positive attitude which is shaped in the early years will influence students’ maturity and identity. We will strive to encourage the development of students’ soft skills through numerous activities under the student body, student welfare unit, and alumni unit so that all students will become outstanding people of their religion, race, and nation.

I hope that all students will always do their best to strive for excellence and lifelong accomplishments.
